Craftsmen
Corsican arts and crafts combine quality of materials with expertise and creativity.
Given the island's traditions, craftsmen have a predilection for certain materials such as earth, wood and metal, making ironwork pieces, traditional Corsican knives, furniture (particularly using chestnut), not to mention pottery, whether practical or decorative.
But many other activities also reflect the richness and diversity of the island's craftsmanship: knitting and weaving using Corsican ewe wool, glasswork, stringed instrument making, jewellery making, basket making, antique bookbinding, toy making, children's bedroom decorations, etc.
