The art of farming at nature’s pace...
The Aghione plateau is one of Corsica’s main olive growing regions. In this calm, peaceful area, a beautiful building steeped in two hundred years of history nestles on a family-run farm covering some 117 acres. This is where Anne Amalric produces almonds, olives and grapes.
The vines are grown on large stony terraces which drop down to the banks of the Tagnone river. Sciaccarellu and Syrah grapes, which are harvested at various stages of maturity, produce a delicate rosé wine which is a delight on summer evenings!
However, Anne’s real passion lies in olive trees. Her olive groves roll down gently into the valley, whose exceptional soil and microclimate give the oil its mildness and balance. From harvesting to the bottling process, everything is driven by the quest for quality. A true family tradition combined with work that has been thoughtfully carried out has resulted in the production of a rare AOP olive oil - Domaine Marquiliani and Moulin de Pauline – made from 100% fruit juice, which was awarded a gold medal at the prestigious Paris International Agricultural Show.
If you decide you don’t want to leave the farm, you can enjoy a stay in the family home, which provides accommodation for eight people in very comfortable rooms, with the added benefit of a large garden, pool and terrace and, to top it all, a magnificent view over the Renosu mountain chain. It’s ideal for a superb break in in the heart of the countryside.
Produce is sold on site and in specialist shops.
