Overlooked by Cagna mountain and its curious granite sentinel “L'Omu di Cagna”, Castellu di Baricci was used from the beginning of the nineteenth century by the Polidori de Rocca Serra family.
After lying dormant for a few decades, the domaine began a new life in 2000. Paul and Laurence Quilichini replanted all of the vines and restored the old ruined buildings in order to make splendid guesthouses. The domaine has now taken the name Castellu di Baricci, as an homage to the medieval castle, which, from atop its rocky python, stands guard over the picturesque Ortolo valley.
Now their daughter Elisabeth, aware of the beautiful, priceless heritage left by her ancestors, is not holding back in her efforts to preserve it and ensure its development. The bubbly and dynamic young woman happily divides her time between grape and olive cultivation and tourist reception, with top quality being a major requirement.
