Whilst out foraging for flowers amongst the chestnut and strawberry trees between col de Teghime and the village of Murato, you're bound to see Félicien Luciani's diligent worker bees.
Situated upon the Oletta meadow, this young beekeeper manages 150 beehives from his family estate - a business he created from scratch at the age of twenty. "I'm extremely lucky! My little black Corsican bees produce xxx during every season." It's with paternal-like devotion that he rears, watches over and cares for his very own Hymenopterans, harvesting different honey varieties all year long.
As soon as you meet Félicien he immediately launches into a meticulous scientific description of the precise role and specific attributes of our native bee species...
While his bees are out working, he doesn't waste any time... He uses the fruit from his estate to produce delicious jams as well as planning no fewer than 1,200 olive, bifere fig and citrus trees.
How would you like a hive named after you? Corsica's very own Felicien Luciani is the first person to develop such an idea. By sponsoring a beehive, you’re also helping save our bees! And every year, six large pots of different flavoured honey are delivered straight to your door! Pay a visit to this genuine champion of the environmental cause and you're certain to give your taste buds a treat, but be ready for his passion – it’s completely contagious!
